Jill Hanney is often described as the backbone of the GCS office.

Responsible for all administrative, financial and customer service operations, Jill’s work involves managing people and processes behind the scenes – skills that she’s developed from two decades of service in key support roles in corporate, nonprofit and municipal organizations.

Over the years, Jill has served as:

Administrative Assistant for the Illinois Municipal League Risk Management Association, aiding in all aspects of accounts receivable with more than $40 million in annual contributions, conference management, and member services;

  • Coordinator for the Sustainable Agriculture Grant Program with the Illinois Department of Agriculture, preparing reports and maintaining program documentation for management, legislators and the general public, coordinating a 3-year effort for the annual Farm Progress Show and supporting the advancement of Earth Stewardship Day;
  • Administrative Coordinator for the Sangamon County Soil and Water Conservation District, administering soil and water resource conservation activities in Sangamon County, overseeing sales and budget activities, and participating in resource planning activities;
  • Parts & Service Dispatcher for the National Cash Register Corporation, controlling the stocking and disbursement of service parts, working with customers to analyze problems and assign calls to field engineers;
  • Clerk/Dispatcher for the Glenview Police Department, processing the department’s warrant files and compiling reports for the State of Illinois and Glenview officials.

Jill also calls Springfield home, along with her youngest daughter Erin, her husband Chris and daughter Madelyn and son Andrew. Jill's oldest daughter Shannon, her husband Rob and sons Cameron and Clayton reside in the Chicagoland area.
